PAYMENT

Deposits, final payments, and delivery

I reserve the right to request a 50% deposit before starting work on your project. An invoice will be issued via email, and payment is expected within 30 days of the invoice date. By paying the deposit, you are accepting these Terms of Service and entering into a contract with Conor Julien (Julien Design Ltd.).

The remaining balance will be invoiced before final files are delivered. I reserve the right to withhold delivery until payment is received in full.

If I have not heard from you for over 30 days, I may invoice early and pause the project until I receive a response.

If helpful, you may request a payment plan. This will be agreed upon in writing at my discretion.

All invoices are due within 30 days of issue. I reserve the right to charge additional fees to cover the cost of debt recovery processes for overdue accounts.

TYPEFACES

Font licensing

Where fonts from Adobe Fonts or other platforms are used, I will provide names and sources. It is your responsibility to acquire the correct licenses for any fonts you wish to use commercially. Fonts used in static artwork (e.g. logos) typically don’t require licensing, but if you want to use editable text in your own materials, a separate license is usually required.

I cannot legally share font files I have purchased or licensed.

RESTRICTIONS

You are not permitted to use, alter, or repurpose any drafts, concepts, sketches or unused ideas presented during the process. These remain the property of Conor Julien (Julien Design Ltd.).

Unused ideas may be reused in future projects, though I will adjust anything that closely resembles your final design to avoid confusion or conflict.

Unless we agree otherwise, I reserve the right to showcase the final design work in my portfolio, on social media, or in design publications, now or in the future. This includes any design work associated with your project: business cards, social posts, packaging, websites, etc.

You are free to modify the final work once delivered, but you do so at your own risk.

OWNERSHIP & COPYRIGHT

All preparation materials, sketches, and editable files remain my property until the final invoice is paid in full.

Once payment is complete, you gain full rights to the final agreed-upon design(s). Any other designs or concepts shown but not chosen remain my property.

If payment is not completed, I reserve the right to repurpose or reuse the work elsewhere. Any attempt to use or replicate the work without payment will result in legal action.

FILE FORMATS & SOURCE FILES

Final files (e.g., print-ready PDFs, high-resolution PNGs, optimised assets for web) are included in the project price.

Editable source files (such as .ai, .psd, .fig, .indd) are not included unless agreed in writing at the beginning of the project. These can be provided at an additional fee.

TRADEMARK & COPYRIGHT

Registering a trademark is your responsibility. I cannot provide legal advice or assistance with copyright or trademark registration.

BRAND NAMING

You are responsible for ensuring your brand or product name is legally available before starting a project. If legal issues arise due to the name after the work is completed, I am not liable, and no refunds will be given.

Changing the name mid-project may incur additional costs, especially if substantial design work has already been done.

CANCELLATION

If you cancel the project: Once ideas have been presented, refunds are not available. Partial refunds may be considered depending on the scope of work already completed.

If I cancel the project: In the unlikely event I cannot complete the project (due to illness or unforeseen circumstances), I will refund an appropriate portion of the payment. If work completed can be handed over to another designer, we can discuss a fair solution.

Project Suspension: If there is excessive micromanagement, a breakdown of trust, or unreasonable delays in feedback or payment, I reserve the right to suspend the project. Notice will be given and a chance to resolve things will be provided. No refunds are given in cases of suspension, and all designs remain my property.

FORCE MAJEURE

If I cannot deliver the work due to events beyond my control (natural disasters, government actions, etc.), I will inform you promptly and resume as soon as possible. This will not be considered a breach of contract.

LIMITATION OF LIABILITY

You agree that Conor Julien (Julien Design Ltd.) is not responsible for any damages, loss, or legal issues that arise from the use of my designs or services. This includes any third-party content, links, or assets you choose to use.

I will ensure that all work is original and, to the best of my knowledge, does not infringe on others’ intellectual property. I carry out limited checks but cannot accept legal responsibility for copyright or trademark conflicts. It is your responsibility to do thorough due diligence.
